Kaitlan is an Animal Behaviorist with a B.A. in Animal Behavior, M.P.S in Canine and Feline Health and Science, ABC Certification, Fear Free Certification, CPDT-KA and 7.5 years experience training dogs through private sessions, board and trains and shelter work.
What's your favorite breed?
I love big breed dogs so my bully babies and mastiffs
What's your favorite behavior(s) to work on?
Overtime overarousal, high frustration, low impulse control behaviors have become my bread and butter. So the ones typical associated with bully and mastiff breeds haha.
What's your "go to" cue?
Touch. I think it's an incredibly easy cue for any dog to learn and can be use in a wide variety of situations.
Raven has spent the last 5 years gaining knowledge in various roles within the animal welfare field, most notably group classes and board and train programs for higher behavior need pups as well as providing compassionate care through pet sitting and as a veterinary technician. Raven is planning on the CATCH course to be her next endeavor!
What's your favorite breed?
The Pitties and Newfies have my heart.
What's your favorite behavior(s) to work on?
Reactivity. Seeing the work start to pay off and the bursts of chaos dwindle when being around a trigger is rewarding.
What's your "go to" cue?
I love using "leave it". It's not only beneficial for regular use, but has seriously helped me in those "my human kid dropped something" moments!
Leanna started her career in animal welfare in the RGV before coming to the Central TX area. She is Fear Free Certified, received Mentorships 1 & 2 from Dogs Playing For Life, and with 2 years of experience training dogs along with 4 years heavily focusing on dog-dog socialization, she is working towards her CPDT-KA!
What's your favorite breed?
I love them all, but I do love my shepherds!
What's your favorite behavior(s) to work on?
Reactivity! I love helping pets and owners have less stressful experiences when going out on walks.
What's your "go to" cue?
I love a "place" cue. Has proven useful in many different scenarios, especially in multi-dog households!
